Newly planted trees and shrubs may face many threats and setbacks that we aren’t always aware of.  Deer, rabbits and other rodents can damage and destroy new plantings.  Wind and drought cause moisture stress which threaten the survival of seedlings.  Finally, weeds can steal the light, water and nutrients your trees and shrubs feed off of.  This is where tree tubes come in handy, eliminating these devastating factors.  It is amazing, as I have seen throughout the county; when you reduce the stress on newly planted trees, you won’t believe the growth they are capable of in one growing season.

· Used on tree seedlings, acorns, nuts

· Are not a season extender

· Blocks wind

· Affects CO₂

· Shields from herbicide spray

· Protects against mechanical damage

·     Protects the plant from deer, rabbits, etc.

· Works best with small plants

· Conserves moisture  

· Is made of translucent polyolefin

· Trains the plant to a single stem

· Must be the equivalent of 3.5” OD in cross-section

· Has photomorphogenic effects

· Modifies the quality, quantity and wavelength composition of the light hitting the seedling
